Thank you for showing us this! I noticed how much your writing changed between TFK and TEH, and while I loved both books immensely, it shows how much a writer's craft and skill can improve even over a relatively short time.

Seeing you go back and revise this scene from TFK doesn't just show how much you've grown as a writer. It shows that you literally never stop growing as long as you continue to write, no matter what stage of writing or publishing you've reached. I love seeing writers' processes, and I've read a lot of the advice you gave on Twitter and on your website. I've learned so much from it, and while I totally get why you stopped giving it, I appreciate that you shared it at all, at any point.

Your writing is so strong and packs so much emotion and depth, and it seems like it only does that more now. Plus, I just love this scene. The religion line is my favorite in the entire book. <3

Thanks so much for sharing this! I love seeing other writers' revision processes, and it's really cool to see how you got more efficient in your writing. I find it especially difficult when writing YA fantasy to not get bogged down in the details, explaining world building to readers, and contextualizing too much. It's a tricky balance to navigate, one that I think you do a great job of working through!
